Abyss arc, ch.60; Genesis route

Species: Angel? Former human. Canon is slightly unclear but he has angel wings and does angel things, so he's probably an angel now.
History: The Elwiki is not very good but here.Elsword is an adventurer whose original purpose was to restore the El ("big rock that keeps the world alive") after it exploded and shattered and therefore caused an apocalypse. This involved the shōnen protagonist tropes of getting together a big adventuring group equivalent to the MCU, going on quests, being the person who kept saying "I'm responsible for everything and if anything goes wrong it's My Entire Fault Somehow", and killing a lot of things. This group, called the El Search Party, "elgang", or "ESP", spent around ~5 years together saving various cities and countries from demon invasions, cults, and other things that the genre declares are bad. Elsword, however, has always had the uncanny ability to resonate with the El directly despite being human from birth, and for him, it gets out of hand. The further he resonates with it, the more he starts to suffer what's called the Illuminous Phenomenon, an affliction that gradually wears away a person's sense of self and emotions. While he suffers that throughout his journey in small increments, Elsword eventually suffers the full effects of it when he enters the Large El to restore it to its former strength, essentially sacrificing himself to it. In the end, while he's able to restore the El with his sacrifice (and the *shōnen anime voice* HELP OF HIS FRIENDS), the crystal spits him out, and Elsword becomes basically a half-mindless, emotionless guardian to the El full-time, doing whatever he needs to keep it safe. He refers to his sacrifice as "the will of the world".
Also his amnesia is so bad he doesn't remember his own name.
Personality: ✽ What is your character's main motivation? What drives them and keeps them going?
Elsword has only ever had two entire motivations in his life: Protect his friends & protect the world at large. Protecting the world at large nowadays mostly comes from keeping the El from exploding again. His friends, of course, can protect themselves, but Elsword will still jump in front of attacks meant for them anyway.
✽ What is their biggest regret? Why?
He doesn't quite remember his biggest regret since his brain is scrongled, but if the past-him had to pick one, it would be all the people he failed to save: The knights in Velder and Hamel, Yuno in Atlas, and many demons from Berthe's wrath.
✽ What is their worst fear? Their greatest comfort?
Elsword's emotional abilities are at an all-time low, but "fear" to him is being unable to protect the El and having it explode and cause Another Apocalypse. He's comforted by the presence of friends he's kept at his side for the last several years, even if he may not fully remember them.
✽ Top three strengths?
-Big heart! Full of love! Full of forgiveness! Full of kindness!
-He has the strongest will known to mankind even though he lost all his emotions, who would sacrifice themself to the God Rock willingly with the knowledge that they'll probably die?? Elsword would. He's quite protective, to the point where it's an actual driving force for him, so this was the obvious choice (for him).
-According to Raven, his friends ARE his strength, and that is true – without them, he would be less motivated and far less of a person. We're talking like, no character growth whatsoever, he'd still be an immature brat.
✽ Top three weaknesses?
-He's incredibly self-sacrificial. Why would you throw yourself into the God Rock, now everyone's worried about you.
-He's stubborn as a mule. "Elsword no that is a horrible idea" sorry he didn't hear you, he's doing the horrible idea.
-Unfortunately, that whole amnesia thing does a number on him. If he doesn't commit certain things to memory as hard as he can, there's a 90% chance he'll forget them. Even then, if he's not regularly exposed to whatever he's trying to remember, the Illuminous Phenomenon will chew at his brain and remove it.
✽ What was their last lie?
"I'm fine", a lie he didn't think was a lie – because he's pretty sure he's okay. As you can see, he's absolutely the opposite of fine. Although, Elsword is a bad liar, he will still lie through his teeth and say he's fine knowingly anyway... this is probably the only lie he'll ever tell tbh.
Inventory: His sword,
Sephira (a glowing ring that floats at his back and follows him around; it acts as his wings if called on, and is seemingly made up of pure El energy), &
Leon - a fully-grown lion-shaped "artifact pet", which basically means that they're functionally immortal and don't need to eat because they are also made up of raw El energy. If you need to nerf Leon's immortality that's fine!
Abilities: Inhuman strength – what it says on the tin. He can lift and swing an entire-ass claymore with one hand, but also strike the ground so hard that it'll break and gouts of flame will come out of it.
El Resonance – Probably less relevant to this setting because the El Is Not Here, but Elsword is shown to resonate with a) the El fragments, b) the Large El in general, and c) anyone with a high affinity for the El themselves, or any artifacts with high El affinity (such as Sephira). All it really does is power him up, but he can also repair things related to the El with just himself (such as, again, the Large El, and also Ain from his canon if Ain dies/fades away for any reason).
"Power of El" – This is what the wiki is calling his specific brand of magic so that's what I'm using. Not to be confused with his El Resonance, which is more of a passive thing. Essentially, Elsword is an extremely proficient magic caster, using golden magic that's also made of El energy (do you see a trend yet). What he can do with this is fairly varied, but mostly is for combat; he can create beams of light that clear enemies from an area, or more concentrated magical effects for melee combat. Or he can also
just summon additional swords made of light. Of note, and the only spells he has in his arsenal that aren't focused purely on obliterating things, are a spell that puts down a
field that protects allies and debuffs enemies, and a spell that uses sigils to
heal and restore mana. Otherwise, he really is going "be not afraid" on everybody. He has an additional spell that makes his sword larger, but really it's just him summoning El energy around it to make it bigger, the sword itself is not growing.
